RV Fluid Analysis

Professional lab tested motorhome fluid analysis that can uncover more than you could ever imagine.

At a glance...
Non-invasive way to check an RVs internal mechanical health.
Multiple fluids can be tested at the same time.
Can ultimately be the deciding factor in a motorhome purchase.
What is a Fluid Analysis?

An RV fluid test analysis is a laboratory evaluation of the lubricants and operating fluids used throughout a motorhome or tow vehicle systems.

Samples of engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and generator oil are collected and sent to a lab where they are analyzed for wear metals, contamination, viscosity breakdown, fuel dilution, coolant intrusion and additive depletion.

This process provides a data-driven snapshot of internal component health that cannot be seen during a visual inspection alone. For example, elevated copper or lead in engine oil can indicate bearing wear, while the presence of coolant in oil may point to a head gasket or oil cooler failure.

Rather than guessing based on mileage or appearance, fluid analysis uses measurable trends to detect problems early - oftentimes thousands of miles before a failure occurs.

Who should get
a fluid analysis?

Fluid analysis is especially valuable for buyers of used motorhomes, owners of diesel pushers, full-time RVers, and anyone with a high-value drivetrain or generator system.

It’s also recommended when service history is unknown, after overheating events, before a long cross-country trip, or as part of an annual preventative maintenance program.

Because RV repairs can be costly and breakdowns disruptive, fluid testing offers an economical way to reduce risk and make informed decisions about maintenance, repairs, or purchase negotiations.

In short, anyone who wants to move from reactive repairs to predictive maintenance will benefit from an RV fluid analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a safety inspection and a full RV inspection?

A safety inspection focuses strictly on conditions that could cause injury, fire, carbon monoxide exposure, propane hazards, or unsafe driving/towing situations.

It does not cover cosmetic issues or minor wear items.

A full inspection is more comprehensive and evaluates overall condition, functionality, and maintenance concerns in addition to safety.

How long does the typical RV safety inspection take?

Most RV safety inspections take 2 - 3 hours, depending on the size and type of RV and how accessible key components are.

Larger motorhomes or units with multiple systems may require additional time to properly evaluate all safety-related areas.

Do I need a safety inspection if my RV is new or recently serviced?

Yes. Even newer RVs can have overlooked installation issues, loose fittings, propane leaks, electrical hazards, or manufacturer defects.

A safety inspection provides an independent evaluation to ensure critical systems are safe for occupancy and travel.

When should I schedule an RV safety inspection?

Safety inspections are recommended before purchasing an RV, before long trips, after long storage periods, and anytime you suspect a problem such as unusual smells, warning lights, water leaks or appliance issues.

They are also beneficial after accidents or severe weather exposure.
